MISSION SAN ANTONIO
Founded in 1771 as the third of the California missions established by Father Junipero Serra, it had nearly 500 neophytes when the Anza expedition stopped in March of 1776. Located in the midst of Fort Hunter Liggett, The setting generally looks much as it did when seen by Anza and his emigrants. The mission serves as a training center for the Franciscan order and is open to the public.
